100 Hispanic Women Internship Program (100HWI)
The 100 Hispanic Women Internship Program (100HWI) offers young women an opportunity to work within the organization and learn about non-profit operations first hand.
The program established in 2003 initiated with one internship position and has currently expanded to three. Throughout their experience at 100 Hispanic Women, interns are required to participate in all of our events where in many cases they are introduced to public figures such as community leaders and elected officials, in addition to CEOs and managers of corporations that work with us in achieving our mission.
In addition, the City University of New York has been enormously helpful in working with us to establish this much needed program in the community. The position requires interns to be enrolled in an accredited graduate or undergraduate degree program, and posses a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Many of these young women have used this opportunity as a career launch pad and have moved on to fill positions within City Hall, the United Nations, New York City Hospitals and others such as Lehman Brothers, Macy’s Corp, and many more.
