Each year the 100 Hispanic Women brings its membership together to participate in a series of symposia that cover topics from professional development and education to wealth management. Moreover, the organization has attracted experts and key Latina influentials to address its members. Leaders such as Congresswomen Nydia Velasquez and Loretta Sanchez; Former US Surgeon General and Commissioner of New York State Department of Health Dr. Antonia Coella Novello, and internationally acclaimed fashion designer Dana Buchman have been among the notable speakers.

In 2003, the 100 Hispanic Women broke new ground with its “Mind, Body, and Spirit...the Road to serenity”. Now an annual event, the conference, held in Fall, is designed as a therapeutic retreat for women to de-stress and deal with the challenges of conforming to the traditional Latina role and the demands of their professional career. Speakers conduct -- psychotherapists, sex therapist, health food experts and Yoga-spiritualists -- interactive workshops with the participants. In addition, cosmetic companies like Borghese and Zalia illustrate makeovers and how to create “Spa-at-home” treatments. Exhibitors include financial services institutions, pharmaceutical leaders, cosmetic companies and not-for-profit organizations. The conference has become one of the organization’s premier events. Moreover, response from the membership and our corporate sponsors has been overwhelmingly positive.

Five more scholars were inducted into the Young Latinas Leadership Institute during a special ceremony held at CUNY Baruch College. There are now 15 Latina students enrolled in the Institute. The program’s goal is to provide scholarships to twenty-five Latina students on an annual basis. The students participate in mentoring programs, workshops, and other activities that encourage and support the scholars through graduation while providing the necessary tools and skills to assist them to become leaders of excellence.
